Kate Middleton praised for response to question about Meghan and Harry’s daughter Lilibet that she ‘wasn’t ready to answer’ #42

The Princess of Wales was asked for her thinking when a reporter asked her an unpredicted question about her niece Princess Lilibet, who’d been born days prior to the interview.

The royal youngster was welcomed into the world on 4 June, 2021 to parents Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, in Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, California.

The child’s parents fled from Harry’s home-country in the UK – where his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II sat on the throne – to the States, where Meghan was from.

The transatlantic move was encouraged by alleged maltreatment that the couple – specifically former Suits actress Meghan – had been exposed to at the hands of both the British royal family, and by the tabloid press.

In their numerous allegations, the pair declared that Harry’s brother and sister-in-law, Prince William and Kate Middleton, has commanded a huge proportion of bu.lly.ing.

When Princess Lilibet was born slap-bang in the middle of the formerly ‘Fab Four’s’ tumultuous row, therefore, many royal onlookers questioned how the Wales’ might feel about the child being born in the States, and under such tense circumstances.

And during one interview with Kate months later, one reporter asked that very question.

In a viral clip, said journalist asked at the time, ‘Do you have any wishes for your new niece Lilibet?’, to which the 43-year-old immediately smiled, laughing off the unpredicted question.

“Oh, I wish her all the very best,” the mother-of-three replied.

“I can’t wait to meet her because we haven’t yet – met her yet.

“So, hopefully, that’ll be soon.”

Despite the accusation that had previously been opposed to she and William, 40, Kate was praised at the time for her response to the surprising question.

After the four-year-old clip was reposted this week following Lilibet’s fourth birthday, one fan commented to her: “She wasn’t ready to answer that question but she controlled perfectly.”

Another added: “I felt sorry for Catherine that they even asked her that. Perfectly handled by Catherine though.”

“Why do they put her in an awkward situation?” questioned a third.

“They know what’s going on. And Catherine was great in answering.”
