My sister had an affair with my husband. I cut ties with both of them and we haven’t spoken in six years.
Recently, I got a call from an unknown number. It was my sister. The moment she recognized my voice, she started screaming at me, calling me a witch and blaming me for her pain—saying my ex-husband had loved her, not me.
Life hasn’t been kind to her since. Over the past six years, she’s had five miscarriages and was never able to carry a child to term. After the last one, my ex left her for someone else, completely indifferent to her emotional breakdown. He didn’t even bother to check on her.
But the biggest shock came when she told me she had cancer and couldn’t afford the treatment. After hearing about her situation, I anonymously donated enough to cover most of her medical expenses. She never found out it was me. I also changed my number so she couldn’t contact me again.
Even after all the betrayal, I still think about her. I can’t bring myself to hate her—but now, all I feel is distant sorrow.
